Love In South Korea. 28 Year Old Guy Seeking Life Partner

Details about me:

I'd like to work on in the next couple of years finding a girl to settle down with and have a few kids.

I'm from the U.S, but I don't attach much importance to nationality. I'm 28, but I don't hold a grudge against someone older or younger than me. I'm Caucasian, but I actually prefer Asian. I'm a native speaker of English, but I'd be impressed with myself if I learned some Korean language. That's why I'd like to make a plan with someone special about having a life together in Korea.

This posting is really a long-shot. I mean, posting a message like this on the Internet is usually ignored as being crazy, read for entertainment, or a magnet for SPAM.

I'm 6'1" and weigh about 185 pounds. Pure brown hair and deep brown eyes. Sometimes I like to sport a short beard. If that sounds too weird then quit reading now. All of my teeth are good. Very white and I've only had two small dental cavities in my life which I promptly had filled. I bet you've never read someone mention about their teeth in a post seeking a life partner before. :D

In terms of money, I'm quite conservative because I don't have much and some may say cheap, hehe. I'm not an abusive man. This seems very basic but it's important to know. I was abused growing up but over the years patience has been a virtue. Although it may sound weird to hear these things talked about so openly, I feel like it's important to note especially when communicating through the Internet. Since you can't see me. If you do you'll know how down-to-Earth and friendly I am.

I know that South Korea has a lot of Christians. That's fine. But personally I'm 100% NON-RELIGIOUS, and I don't like having religion forced on me. If anything, I like the sort of mix of daily Confucianism and Taoism that constitutes so much of the east Asian lifestyle.

I've never even been to South Korea before. In fact, Korea and Japan are the only two countries in Asia that I haven't visited. That's why it's somewhat ironic to be putting this message out there in a place where I've never even been yet. In my heart's insight a feeling that South Korea would be a good match has been yearning and that sinking intuition that settling in Asia would be better in the long-run than the U.S. The thing is that I love Asia. I lived in China for two years and in Thailand for 2.5 years.

China is a good place to work in part because of how easy it is to find an important job. Thailand is a beautiful and friendly place. Although, the problem is each of these countries have their own flaws (like anywhere). Sometimes the pollution and censorship in China can be over-whelming. Thailand has problems with corruption and it's too hot all 365 days a year.

That's why Korea seems like a wonderful place to me. Perhaps it offers the best of Asia. It's very modern. I always joke that I can live anywhere in the world with a fast Internet connection, hehe. Korea is supposed to have the fastest average broadband speeds. I know there is supposed to be very beautiful fall foliage (and four seasons). I've really only seen the leaves changing colors once in my life because of always living in hot climates. I love snow and mountains and beaches, though I may be culture shocked a bit by the immense crowds at the beach. Korean people seem very friendly. I love the culture and I want to learn more. Korean food... mmMm mmmm. In fact, since I'm posting about finding a life partner and having a family with her, I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like to devote my life to it and somehow become integrated in Korean culture.

Yet one problem I tend to run into overseas are the cultural differences. It's not always a problem. I like cultures and I'm very adaptable. My time traveling, working, and volunteering overseas (especially in Asia) has caused a big change in me. I'm one who is constantly in between continents and cultures... between the East and the West. I like it that way. Sometimes though I also tend to cling to what is familiar, in this case I'm used to some things in the Western World. Although, I don't like everything about the Western World and I've seen with my own eyes that there are some serious problems in the U.S / Europe that simply don't exist in Asia, generally speaking.

I like how Asian people are generally more dutiful. More bound to their families and their responsibilities. I wish that I could be more like this and perhaps some day I can be. I'm from a "broken family" in the U.S. My parents divorced when I was 11 and I lived in foster care with strangers until I was 18 when I moved to California. I respect Korean families. In fact, I love love love the whole way of respect in Asia... where students usually respect teachers... offspring usually respect parents, etc. This is so different than how I grew up.

I'm a writer. I've published five books of poetry over the last few years. All of this publishing is just a hobby. I spend a lot of time on the Internet following politics, the environment, and learning and discussing about other interesting things. I enjoy simple and inexpensive things in life like going for walks, riding a bicycle, and spending time together with someone special. Of course there's more to me than just this. But you have to get in contact to know better. :p

Life can be funny or it can be boring. Life can be something we never expected. In a committed relationship you can't expect perfection all the time. There will be "ups and downs". Each of us will get sick from time to time. I try very hard to take care of myself with exercise and eating healthy, but somethings in life tend to be inevitable. One of us could break our leg... What I'm saying is that it's important to have someone there who cares about you. That's what I miss. It's what all of us should have available.

That's why it's of vital importance to find a girl who can be caring and patient and understanding. Pretend that since I'm your life partner that I mean everything to you. That I could be your husband, lover, brother, father, best friend, and soul mate all in one package. Speaking of package, you could even imagine that you're "ordering" me from overseas. "Special delivery" from America, hehe. :) That's basically what I'm talking about here. I'd love to build a relationship, a life, a home, and a family with someone starting from scratch. So that in a few months from now we could plan to be together in Korea or to be together in the U.S and take things from there.
